Continental Contitech Part numbers are very similar. To determine which belt you need use the BMW part # OR length of the belt, which may or may not still be legible on your old belt. We recommend you look at your old belt prior to ordering. In some cases, this belt applies to the later dual spark models. You may be able to confirm the correct belt if the BMW # 12 31 1 341 779 is still legible. The Continental Ref # 4PK611 should also be visible.

Continental Contitech specifically designed the Contitech Elastic technology for use on the non-tensioned BMW alternators. Use of any other manufacturers belt will not ensure proper tension over prolonged periods.

The Continental Contitech elastic ribbed belts are self-tensioning which cuts drive costs considerably.
