Technical Information for horns

Euro MotoElectrics premium quality horns are waiting for your purchase, installation and to be heard!

All EnduraLast horns are made to the highest quality.

These electro-magnetic horns have a decibel rating range from 105-118 dB

Sound volume is mostly determined by the electrical current available to the horn.

Larger current capacity / gauge wires are recommended to deliver the full volume sound that the horn was designed for.

A horn relay should already be in place.

FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT VEHICLE HORNS:

Q. What is a Decibel (dB) and how is it measured?

A. The decibel (dB) is the unit used to measure the intensity of a sound. The decibel scale is a bit odd because the human ear is incredibly sensitive. Your ears can hear everything from your fingertip brushing lightly over your skin to a loud jet engine.

On the decibel scale, the smallest audible sound (near total silence) is 0 dB. A sound 1,000 times more powerful than near total silence is 30 dB.

Here are some common sounds and their decibel ratings:

· Near total silence – 0 dB

· A whisper – 15 dB

· Normal conversation – 60 dB

· A lawnmower – 90 dB

· A car horn – 100 – 105 dB

· A rock concert or jet engine – 120 dB

· A gunshot or firecracker – 140 dB

Decibel units are logarithmic in measurement – so +3 additional decibels / dB equals doubling in sound volume.

Q. How loud are original equipment motorcycle horns?

A. Most motorcycle horns are 100-105 dB. Even the smallest horns that Euro MotoElectrics sells are MUCH louder than most original equipment motorcycle horns.

Q. Which horn will fit my bike?

A. All of our EnduraLast horns will fit any motorcycle, and come with a simple mounting bracket as well as female spade terminals.

Q. What do the horns sound like?

A. The frequency tone is much deeper and richer than the original equipment horns which usually sound less robust.
